How can speech therapy help me or my loved one?

Speech therapy focuses on the deficit areas of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing and how they affect everyday life. Maybe you are having trouble answering questions on the telephone, recalling information from the book you read for book club, or speaking intelligibly to order a meal at a restaurant. A speech therapist takes these deficits and implements them into a treatment plan with individualized exercises and strategies. As the skills improve in the therapy session, we then take treatment and apply it directly to those deficit scenarios. We practice answering questions on the phone, we use our strategies to recall information for book club, and we go to restaurants to practice using our speech strategies. Through the treatment, these strategies become habit to use in everyday life to improve an individuals overall ability to participate in the activities they love.

Life Speech Services strives to provide the most functional therapy and coaching as possible! So where else to provide therapy than in the individuals own home where we can provide strategies and treatment for their everyday functional tasks. Since Life Speech Services comes right to the doorstep, the need for transportation is eliminated.

Are these services covered by Medicare or other Insurance?

Yes, formal Speech Therapy is covered by insurance. Life Speech Services is in the process of becoming credentialed with Medicare, BCBS, and Geisinger at this time.
Dementia Coaching Services are not covered by insurance, as these are targeted towards caregivers of those with medical conditions. These services are considered private pay. Contact us for current rates.
